LIST of 20 names appointed by President Mahama to work in his office after 15 days in charge

President John Dramani Mahama has made 20 key appointments to the Office of the President in three phases, with the first set announced on January 6, the second on January 15 and the third set on January 21, 2025. These appointments aim to strengthen governance and enhance operational efficiency within the presidency. First set of appointments – January 6, 2025 The initial announcement included seven key figures to serve in various high-level roles. The appointments were announced a day before the official inauguration of President Mahama. McDan resumes Terminal 1 operations after airport company approved debt payment terms

McDan Aviation has resumed the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) Terminal 1 after the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) approved a payment plan to help clear arrears owed by McDan. The Ghana Airport Company Limited in December 2024 shut down the operations of McDan at the airport due to debt. However, following an agreement reached between McDan and the GACL, the airport company has granted access to McDan to continue with operations at Terminal 1. The GACL, in December 2024 explained that McDan had an outstanding debt of over US$3.9 million.  It said the debt, which had been accumulating since 2020, includes US$3,995,622.66 and GH¢13,523.37. While McDan Aviation paid GH¢2 million during that period, GACL had initially insisted on full settlement before reopening the terminal. Barekese Piggery and Meat Processing Factory to create 300 new jobs, benefit 700 farmers

A new piggery and meat processing facility in Barekese, Ashanti Region, is set to create 300 direct and indirect jobs and significantly boost the incomes of over 700 pig farmers. This state-of-the-art facility, established by Piper Pretty Company Limited, is capable of processing 35,000 pigs annually and is poised to provide sustainable growth opportunities for farmers and workers across the value chain. The project was financed by the Industrial Support Fund Ghana Venture Capital Ltd (ISF-GVC), a venture capital fund managed by Impact Capital Advisors (ICA), and is part of a broader effort to transform agribusiness in Ghana. The facility will provide a reliable market for pig farmers, ensuring fair prices for their produce while creating new opportunities for input suppliers, farm workers, and processors.
